Forty years ago, the Emirate was just a stretch of poor and sleepy desert settlements. Now, it has transformed to one of the richest countries in the world. It is obsessed to build dreamlike projects, aiming to be the number one for as many world records as possible. The construction of the world’s highest tower was ongoing in Dubai; and even when it was nearly its completion, the final height of the tower was still a top secret. The tower was initially named Burj Dubai (“Tower of Dubai”), but as Dubai was rescued by Sheikh Khalifa of Abu Dabhi to survive the global financial crisis, the skyscraper was then renamed Burj Khalifa.
