His books Selimut Debu (A Blanket of Dust) and Garis Batas (Borderlines: A Journey through Central Asia) explore the complexities and beauty of life in these regions, while his third book Titik Nol (Ground Zero) offers a unique perspective on the writer’s physical, spiritual, and emotional journey as he contemplates his own conflicts and anxieties.

He is attracted to understanding human issues and has learned numerous languages in order to build rapport with locals, including Dari Persian, which he became fluent in due to his intensive work in Afghanistan. Fluent in Indonesian, English, and Mandarin Chinese, and with a background in Russian, Hindi/Urdu, Turkic languages, and Tok Pisin, Agustinus is well-equipped to communicate with people from all walks of life.
