Young nuns of Yangon share the alms they have received on that day. Buddhism emphasizes on non-attachment, so monks are requested not to keep material possessions, and have to survive by begging for alms from the laypeople. By begging, the monks learn about humility, while the laypeople are given chance to make good karma.
