The Kazakh is a Muslim minority group inhabiting the westernmost part of Mongolia, which still preserves the tradition of eagle hunting. The possession of eagle had been pride for the nomadic people for centuries. The Kazakh hunters use eagles to hunt their games, especially foxes. The eagles are acquired by kidnapping from the wilderness. The Golden Eagle Festival is held annually in Olgii to preserve the disappearing ancient tradition.
