Satina Manapova is an English teacher in Toktogul, a very small town in central Kyrgyzstan. The country is among few Central Asian countries to accept Peace Corps volunteers from the United States. Most of the volunteers were English teachers. Every year or two, Toktogul receives one English teacher volunteer to work together with local teachers like Satina. Their teaching material was imported directly from America, with updated information and authentic cultural background. For the students of this remote Kyrgyz town, America is no more too far away.
