The Kirghiz is a nomadic tribe residing the high mountain ranges of Pamir—known as the “Roof of the World”—in the isolated Wakhan Corridor region of Afghanistan. Because of the isolation and harsh environment, the Afghan Kirghiz women almost never travel away from their camps. The place where they stay is their only world.
