Asian and Western tourists enjoy sunset on a Bali beach. Bali is the first Indonesian island opened for mass tourism in Indonesia, and remains the most visited island all over the archipelago. The island is heavily depended on tourism, making it very reluctant to any issues that may hinter tourist visits. The terrorist attacks killing many Australians and the execution of Australian drug smugglers had severely affected the number of tourist arrivals of Australia—the traditional main source of foreign tourists in Bali. But in recent years the island has witnessed a huge influx of Mainland Chinese tourists, which somehow balance its dependency from Australian tourist visits.
