Azadi Mosque, also known as Ertuğrul Gazi Mosque, was built in 1998 of marble to resemble the Blue Mosque of Istanbul. The mosque accommodates up to 5,000 worshippers, but, like any other grandeur architectures in Turkmenistan, it is largely empty.
