A mother from Wakhan valley swings the little hammock of her baby, to make him sleep. The Wakhi people of the isolated Wakhan Corridor of Afghanistan still live in mud houses and maintain their distinctive tradition. Babies are usually tied up on the hammock or cradle when they are sleeping, so they don’t fall down.
