A Buddha statue in a monastery in Tibet is seen with Chinese banknotes tucked in his hand. The money is donation from the pilgrims and it’s the way of respect. But somehow a Buddha statue holding banknotes becomes ironic, as Buddha teaching emphasizes on detachment of material world.
